  • The British Invasion of 1964

    The British first invaded the American shores in 1775 during the famous night Paul Revere rode his horse and announced “The British are Coming, The British are Coming!”   One hundred and eighty nine years later a new wave of Brits invaded the USA, only this time they weren’t caring guns, they brought guitars, drums, pianos, and sound equipment.  Paul Revere & the Raiders, an American band was waiting but they just added to the music.

    The British music invasion lasted for three years, from 1964 to 1967.  It began with the arrival of John, Paul, George, and Ringo also known as the Beatles.  Rock n’ Roll had begun in the 1950’s arising from the musical influences of country weste
